Excellent question! Most witches live to between 150 & 175. Some very hardy (or particularly crotchety) sorts can make it to 200. There are some spells and rituals that promise immortality, but these tend to be very, very costly to the witches involved, frequently requiring the sacrifice of something (or many somethings) very dear to them. These rituals and spells are extremely difficult and tend to be few and far between.
Do witches have to be in the Cirque Coven?
Nope, not all witches that join the Cirque participate in the Coven. Some of them are too new to the craft to really work the ritual magic used by the Coven to set up the wards around the Cirque, and some are just not interested in being part of that group. It is up to the witch/warlock themselves. We do ask that when introing your new character you mention whether or not that are part of the coven to let the other players know.
Which witches are in the Cirque Coven?
Elia, the current High Priestess, and Grayson.
Can my Witch sense what others are?
Not all witches can, but spend enough time around the supernatural melting pot and they might be able to. However they sense magic whether it is taste, feel, aura, scent, or a sound, will be able to tell them commonly experienced species, which is almost every species not listed under Other.
How does a siren's voice affect a witch?
Only slightly less affected than a normal human. Very powerful witches might be able to ward somewhat against the effects, but this would require rather a lot of power and magical work and would not be at all feasible for a continuous solution.
How are the NOLA covens arranged?
While there are numerous small covens, NOLA features five larger groups - including two exclusively for Voodoo practitioners, but all are grouped by their neighborhoods. The French Quarter and CBD/Downtown are neutral. The third area belongs to the voodoo exclusive coven that is friends with the Cirque.
